Spanish 2

El Proyecto de Mi Inmigrante

In this project, we had to find an immigrant in our family, find out as much information as possible and then translate it into the past tense in Spanish. The main point of the project was to learn how to translate from present tense and past tense specifically the "imperfecto and pretérito". I wrote about my ancestor named Thomas Root, who immigrated to the United States and got married in Massachusetts. He had many children with his wife. Something I got out of this project was that I learned a lot more of my family history, but also because I was able to begin the process of learning how to properly conjugate words in the past tense.

Spanish culture as we know it has been affected by many situations throughout history. Día de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead in English terms has been created through a mixture of cultures being combined. It is celebrated today by creating ofrenda and placing pictures of lost loved ones on top of it. Many flowers and other decorations are placed everywhere. The people believed that the dead should be celebrated rather than mourned. Through this unit, we created 2 projects El Obituario and La Calavera. To create the project titled El Obituario we chose a dead family or pet member and created a bibliography of that person or pet in Spanish. For the project La Calavera, we chose a dead person to make fun of, and it sounds rude but it was made to be a happy mood.
